Since 1978, Hunter Wildlife Rescue has been saving and caring for sick, injured, and orphaned native animals every day. But as threats like land clearing, predators, road collisions, and extreme weather rise, more wildlife than ever needs our help.

Our rescue and rehabilitation services run 365 days a year, relying on community support to give orphaned and injured animals the care they need to survive. Some need months of care before they’re ready for release.

How your donation is used

Hunter Wildlife Rescue is 100% volunteer-run so no matter how big or small, our tax-deductible donation will be gratefully received. Your donation will go towards the rescue, rehabilitation and care of injured, distressed or sick native animals from Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Valley. Some of the things your donation may be used for:

  • Purchase of specialised food and supplements for the HWR Foodbank

  • Purchase of medical supplies
  • Contribute to veterinary expenses
  • Assist with office supplies
  • Contribute to the Emergency Response Fund
