SUPPORT US
Partners & Supporters
Hunter Wildlife Rescue is endlessly grateful for the support of committed individuals and organisations. As a 100% run volunteer organisation, we don’t have staff to pay which means every dollar from supporters goes towards saving injured, distressed, displaced and orphaned wildlife in the Hunter region. All funds contributed by partners is spent directly on conservation.
As threats to wildlife intensify, our costs are mounting and the need for our network to grow larger. Without the support of our partners, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue the impactful work we do.
The International Fund For Animal Welfare (IFAW) has been a major sponsor since the wildfires in 1994. They have provided us with much funding over the years, some of which provided for our new Disaster Incident Response Unit, our Fauna Hub at our Centre, animal food when in need such as disaster incidents as well as fire gear and materials.
The NSW Wildlife Council supports all wildlife rescue groups in NSW other than WIRES with insurance and disaster funding.
WIRES generously provides us with support Hunter Wildlife Rescue by answering our 24/7 rescue line and sending the alerts through to our team.
City Of Newcastle have granted $13,718 for Wildlife Habitat Enhancement & Supplementary Initiative. This will allow us to purchase Habitech boxes, possum boxes and dreys.
Lake Macquarie City Council have granted $1,950 for banners to increase public awareness at events.
