Marine Shore & Sea Bird Course
Course Overview
This Marine Sea bird and Shore bird training course will be held over the weekend of 20 and 21 July 2024. This course will also touch briefly on other water birds.
The course will be presented by Libby Hall who is the Wildlife Rehabilitation Supervisor at Taronga Wildlife Hospital. Libby has over 30 years experience as a vet nurse and specialises in intensive care, rehabilitation, and release of sea and shore birds and marine sea turtles. She has extensive experience caring for many species and in development of oil spill treatment and recovery plans.
Day 1 – Bird identification, rescue, transport, handling & assessment. Tubing fluids, diseases and medication
Day 2 – Intensive care records, rehabilitation, release and caring for oiled birds.
This course is open to any members rescuing and caring for such birds, as well as rescuers who may collect them and need to hold overnight.
There will be limited seats to this course of 20 to 25 members so please register as soon as possible.

Wetlands Centre Shortland Conference room, Main Building – not in the HWR Centre. Please park in carpark 2
Catering
Please bring your own lunch, morning tea will be provided. Please tell us if you have any special dietary requirements.

Register by submitting the training registration form and transferring payment online. Bank account details for payment can be found on the training form.
Registrations close Friday 5th July 2024, or earlier if all places are filled. Register early to avoid disappointment.
